The custom manufacturing process
From inquiry through full production:
Step 1: Customer contacts Koffolk either by
email/fax/phone
Step 2: Koffolk’s development staff will come back to the potential customer
within 5 business days to discuss the inquiry
Step 3: If there is a mutual agreement, the molecule is then sent to the Koffolk
Labs for table-top production
Step 4: Once process is refined, lab batch is prepared and sent to customer
Step 5: Once customer approves lab batch, process is scaled up to Koffolk pilot-batch plant
and product again sent to customer for approval
Step 6: Once customer approves pilot batch, the process can now move to full-scale
production

Using technologies to reach further
Our team is highly experienced in mastering multi-step syntheses from the
first stage of development to full-scale production.
In addition to our on-site staff, we have direct relationships to world-acclaimed
academic institutes, some of whose professors serve as our consultants.
Recognizing the need for a smooth transition from laboratory to production, we have
a highly sophisticated kilo-lab and a versatile pilot plant. The pilot plant
consists of 400-liter and 600-liter SS316 and glass-lined reactors and 600-liter
autoclave (60 atm). Standard equipment includes a distillation unit, centrifuge
and drying oven. The pilot plant can produce full-scale or small-scale production
runs.
Our laboratory operates under cGMP standards and performs stability tests,
validates analytical procedures and tracks down impurities.
The Research & Development and Quality Control units are suitably equipped to
perform structural determinations and quantitative analysis. Analytical facilities
include LC-MS, NMR, HPLC, GC, AA, FTIR, UV, thermogravimetric analysis and others.
